This is a strange fish that we have been seeing more and more commonly. It looks a bit like a catfish, with the long ‘whiskers’. It’s a good eating fish, puts up a great fight, and fillets up nicely. Sometimes it’s called a ‘blue’ hake because of it’s iridescent coloring, which makes is pretty attractive. We find them commonly on the edges of rocky areas over muddier bottoms
