OTI (Ocean Tackle International) Fishing Rods for Tuna!
OTI Rods (Visit their website)is one of our favorite sponsors. The rods that they produce are excellent for tackling big tuna. They have two popping models--the 8 1/2' Tuna Sniper in 40-60# and 60-80# class. They have a shorter Popping rod, 7 1/2' in 40-60# and 60-80#. They are also coming out with a 7 1/2' 100+# rod for the bigger fish that we're expecting in 2010. Great guys at that company. Check them out!
With large spinning reels from OKUMA (VS80 and Salina 80) and rods from OTI(Ocean Tackle International), we are confident that we can stop just about any fish out there. These reels have great drag systems and these rods are 7 1/2 and 8 1/2' long with backbones to hoist fish and stop them (they're rated 40-60 pounds and 60-80 pounds). We can put more drag on these reels than we can put on with our 50-wides!!! For jigging, we're using OTI's jigging line, which is colored every 25' a different color. So, when I say "drop it 60 feet", it's very easy to put it right on that mark.
