Tuna Fishing VideoBluefin Tuna fishing Cape Cod and Stellwagen BankWe had a great time fishing this year for bluefin tuna and you couldn't imagine the size of the fish that we were able to catch on spinning rods. Making these feats even more satisfying was catching fish on rods and reels that didn't break the budget. The drag on the Okuma Salina took more abuse than any reel I've ever seen without giving in once. For $100? Yes. We caught many of the fish this year while using spinning rods and my homemade lures, which I've called Tuna Candy. If I've made some great changes to an old standby and poured them myself. Very satisfying and much, much cheaper. If you're interested in buying some, drop me a line as I have all winter to make them!!! Of course, we still trolled for tuna and used live bait on many occasions. Fishing with live bait and by trolling is more in tune to what many people expect with tuna fishing (and it is possible for most people to fight a tuna using stand-up gear vs. spinning or jigging gear).
